Book Design: Lost in Eternity
Book design for "Lost in Eternity," an experimental type book based on Alan Lightman's "Einstein's Dreams." Concept developed in collaboration with Laina Vanderwell. The ouroboros is linked to the project’s title “Lost in Eternity” and the never-ending cycle of life, which also relates to the book’s portrayal of time. I was also responsible for creating the layout for one of the stories. It tells of a life cycle that lasts for a single day, so I created a gradient using different font weights and grey tints to emulate the changes in light throughout the day. The columns shift from side to side, in reference to the mayflies’ movements. There is an extra blurb at the right side talking about the short life cycle of mayflies. Student project at MacEwan University, 2020.
